This club meets each Sunday at 10am during the morning service and is now a varied mixture of age and gender. All the children are encouraged to think of ideas for the crafts and help choose & read the prayer for the day. Games are regularly invented to tie in with Gospel theme to enable the children to understand and remember the lesson.
This group meets on a monthly basis, the last Sunday of each month for 2 hours. We have a growing group of regular, faithful members who all enjoy some structured activity and some 'chat' time. The group recently made the Christmas Lunch, held at St Clare's, was a big success and highly enjoyable and really illustrated the 'life' of this group and how proud we are of them.
Messy Church is aimed at younger children. Meets monthly on a Saturday at 4pm. Messy Church consists of story, song, prayer and crafts followed by a messy tea. Everyone is made welcome and encouraged to take part in what they are happy to take part in. This group has grown immensely over the last six months and is now starting to see famillies returning again and again as they access the church in a relevant way for them. Great fun, lots of laughter, noisy and messy! A lively way of learning all about God's love for them all.
This is run on a monthly basis on the first Saturday of each month, from 1.30pm.The movie begins at 2pm. This is attended regularly by children of all ages. The children choose which film to watch every month. A tuck shop is also available before the start of the film selling a range of goodies from popcorn to sweets and drinks at reasonable prices. This is in the Fellowship Hall.
Church and Community Children's Choir
A new and growing group of young people between the ages of 5 and 12 years of age, who meet weekly on a Monday between 5pm & 6pm in the Fellowship hall and who just LOVE singing!
The choir, has a large number of members at present and is made up of children from our church groups and local schools. They sang extremely well at a number of Carol Services and more recently at the Bishop Food Festival in Bishop Auckland where they sang to the people of Bishop Auckland and to the Bishop of Durham. They perform twice a year a show for all ages in the Fellowship hall.
